NEW COMBAT AIRCRAFT.—The United States Army’s AH56A, a radically new winged combat rotorcraft, on show at the Van Nuys plant of the Lockheed-California Company. With a top speed of more than 250 miles an hour, the aircraft will be nearly twice as fast as present combat helicopters in Vietnam. It is about 55ft long and has a 27ft wingspan and a 50ft rotor-blade.
