Parade Today

As far as the public are concerned one of the first events associate ed with the 14th World Ploughing Contest and the New Zealand ploughing championships will be a procession through Christchurch beginning at midday today. The plough will be the centre’ theme of the procession, which will be led by the St Andrew’s College pipe band. Vintage tractors, motor-cars and trucks and farm machinery will be taking part and there will also be a traction engine and chaffcutter and a miniature traction engine. Altogether there will be about 50 vehicles or floats in the procession, which will follow a route about a mile long leaving Armagh street between Durham street and Park terrace, and proceeding along Armagh street Manchester street and Cashel street to the Bridge of Remembrance.
