CHECK ON SEX

New Games Ruling

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) TEHERAN. Athletes at future Olympic Games will have to declare their sex on an entry form and be subject to medical tests, the International Olympic Committee decided on Monday. Sir Arthur Porrit, of New Zealand, told the 1.0. C. congress: “There is a very simple test whether the competitor has told the truth or not on his or her form.” Sir Arthur Porrit, who headed the committee to investigate doping and sex of athletes, said that the medical checks would be made by doctors appointed by the 1.0. C,. and not by the Olympic committees of the athletes* own countries.

The congress decided that all competitors would have to take an oath against drug taking. Sir Arthur Porrit said that among the forbidden drugs were: alcohol, amphetamines, ephedrine, cocaine, hashish, opiates, vasudilators (which increase the size of blood vessels), anabolic steroids or male hormones, which increase the size of muscles.
