Reduction In Paper’s Size

(From Our Own Reporter) WELLINGTON, May 8. The monthly military newspaper “Action,” which is issued free to every serviceman and which also has bookstall circulation, is likely to appear in reduced format soon. Asked today whether the newspaper was being withdrawn because of changes in the Government’s financial policy, a spokesman for the Defence Department said that there was no intention of closing the publication down. It had been suggested, however, that the publication should be reduced in size and published in a less expensive form. The spokesman added that the newspaper was not a Government publication, but was produced by an Auckland firm, the Defence Department guaranteeing to purchase a certain number of copies.
