RAIN AT FORBURY

Track Not Affected The value of the use of a roadmaking roller on the track at Forbury Park was emphasised on Saturday night when for the last five races torrential rain swept the course. The track had been rolled extensively for the previous fortnight and the rain ran off the hard surface. The going was still quite fast for the final event. The rain affected on-course turnover. In spite of that the total of £73,902 10s, including £14,050 In doubles betting, was most satisfactory. Last year the turnover was £77,580 15s. Off-course turnover on Saturday amounted to £124,465 15s, compared with £122,019 10s. The attendance on Saturday was 6737.
