Market For Mushrooms

(N.Z. Press Association) HAMILTON, May 7. New Zealand-grown mushrooms may soon be on sale in South-east Asia. Mr T. W. O. Bennett, president of the New Zealand Mushroom Growers’ Association, who has a mushroom farm near Hamilton, said today his bankers were making inquiries into a South-east Asian market as well as in Hong Kong and Australia. A special order of 421 b of mushrooms had been flown to Noumea for a banquet for the Governor there. In addition, New Zealand’s television cook, Graeme Kerr, had a special consignment flown to Sydney for a demonstration.
