TRADE TALKS

(Special Crspdt. N.Z.P.A.) LONDON, May 7. New Zealand trade officials have opened talks with Czechoslovakia in a bid to find new export markets. The Senior Trade Commissioner in London (Mr H. C. Holden) and a member of his staff (Mr J. Belgrave) spent four days last week in Prague discussing trade prospects with local officials.

Mr Holden said Czechoslovakian Government representatives indicated they would not stand in the way of New Zealand sales there if markets could be developed. Further discussions with marketing experts based in Prague would take place in London, he said. “We found there was some readiness to allow trial imports of New Zealand meats and it is possible that active market promotion could lead to valuable sales.”
