University Education

Sir, —I observe in this morning’s issue of “The Press” a letter from “U.N.A. Member,” congratulating Mr Muldoon on his comments relating to university bursaries, and suggesting that all students be required to repay their bursaries to the Government on graduation. This is a scheme which is to be highly recommended and one which could well be carried further. Might I suggest that all people who leave primary school be required to repay to the government the money spent on their education there, and might I also invite both Mr Muldoon and “U.N.A. Member” to show their public spirit in these difficult times by being the first to send in their cheque.—Yours, etc., ANTHONY SIMPSON. May 5, 1967.
