To Attend Conference
An Australian and a New Zealander have won awards to attend the world advertising conference in London from June 27 to 29. The New Zealander is Mr Anthony Wright, of the Tasman Vaccine Laboratory, Ltd., New Zealand. They are among 50 young advertising and marketing executives, all under 30 years of age, chosen by a panel of judges headed by the president of the Swiss Advertising Association under a Beecham young executives scheme. The winners were selected on the basis of a written examination and per sonal recommendation. London, April 19. Aeroplanes Sold
Three of the Royal New Zealand Air Force’s obsolete Sunderland flying-boats are to be sold to Aircraft Sales, Ltd., of Mascot Airport, Sydney, which is interested in the machines for their Pratt and Whitney engines. The company is required to complete the purchase and take delivery of the aircraft at Hobsonville within three weeks.
Sale Of Manure
The sale of sheep manure will aid the purchase of two bulls for an Anglican mission farm in Africa through a project being undertaken by members of the Anglican Diocesan Youth Council. The manure will be gathered from underneath shearing sheds in the Ashburton district, and railed to Christchurch, where it will be sold. The proceeds will be divided between a missionary project in Polynesia supported by the young Anglicans of Ashburton, and the purchase of two bulls to be used in the Buhemba Rural Training Centre run by the Anglican church in Tanzania. Fourth Frost
