AUSTRALIAN GAOLED

(N.Z. Press Association)

AUCKLAND, April 14. On two charges of forgery, two of uttering, one of burglary and another of possessing instruments capable of being used for burglary, John Morgan, a 36-year-old Australian draughtsman, was gaoled for two years today by Mr J. H. Jenner Wily, S.M. He had previously admitted the six charges. The Magistrate noted Morgan’s previous convictions in Australia for armed robbery, burglary and shopbreaking. He said it was obvious the offences had occurred from Morgan’s gambling and general mode of living since arriving in New Zealand. He would recommend that Morgan be deported at the conclusion of his gaol term.
