FIVE HURT ON ROADS
Two persons were injured when a motorcycle and a car collided at the intersection of Stanmore road and London street about 10.20 p.m. yesterday. Anthony Sewell, of 16 Yarmouth street, suffered fairly serious leg injuries. He was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital. Wayne Shearer, of 181 Palmers road, suffered arm injuries. He was treated and discharged. After the collision the motor-cycle burst into flames, and firemen were called to extinguish the blaze. Whakata Katae, of 63 Bower avenue, suffered serious head and chest injuries when he was struck by a car in Bower avenue about 7.55 p.m. He was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital, where his condition last night was satisfactory. Christopher Vuleta, of 111 Paparoa street, suffered fairly serious leg injuries when his cycle and a car collided at the intersection of Blighs road and Condell avenue about 9 a.m. He was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital, where his condition last night was satisfactory. When a car struck a pole in Westminster street about 8.30 a.m. yesterday Colleen Joan Kidd, of 56 McSaveneys road, suffered fairly serious head injuries. She was admitted to the Princess Margaret Hospital, where her condition last night was satisfactory.
