Washed Away
Heavy seas yeaterday morning washed away four chains of the road across the outlet to Lake Forsyth at Poramil, and at high tide the lake and the sea were joined. Many people watched a spectacular show as waves up to 20ft high dashed on and over the shingle bank.
Smallpox Outbreak.— Thirty-four people—including 12 children—have died of smallpox in the famine-stric-ken Mlrzapur district of Uttar Pradesh State during the last fortnight—New Delhi. April 13.
