NEXT WHEAT CROP
Noting that ground preparations for late autumn and early winter sowings of wheat have begun and that an increased acreage is expected this year, Mr A. R. Dingwall, fields superintendent of the Department of Agriculture, says in his latest report on crops and pastures that some districts.have given early indications that this Increase is likely to be about 15 to 20 per cent on the 1966-67 acreage. Last season’s estimated acreage for threshing was 216,000.
