SUPPORT FOR SOCIALISTS
(N.Z. Press Assit.— Copyright) LONDON, April 12.
Hopes of starting a new national daily newspaper In Britain to support the Labour Party have died, and the would-be publishers have gone into voluntary liquidation, the "Evening News” reported. The newspaper, which was to have been called the “Morning News," wss announced in 1965.
The publishers report a deficiency of £30,427 and, unless some unexpected source of revenue is found, there will be nothing for the shareholders who put up nearly £20,000 or the 115 people who paid £6 10s in advance for one year’s subscription, the “Evening News” said.
