PAY RISE DELAY
Warning Of Unrest (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 12. The Government decision to negate the Railways Tribunal increase of 6d hourly to indentured tradesmen was already causing industral unrest, and it appeared the Government did not appreciate the full Implications of its action, the Central Committee of the Combined State Service Organisations said in a statement today. Such was the seriousness of the present situation after the Government’s moves, that the service organisations were at present seeking an “urgent interview with the Prime Minister so that their views can be placed before him.”
Fans Raise £B.—The Christchurch Elvis Presley Fan Club recently held a film afternoon at which £8 was gathered for the Intellectually Handicapped Children’s Society.
