Talks On Clash Of Golf Dates
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. The New Zealand Golf Association has opened negotiations with the New South Wales association in an attempt to solve the possible clash of tournament dates this year. This was confirmed yesterday by the chairman of the New Zealand council (Mr G. P. Roberts) after he had spoken by telephone with an official of the New South Wales Golf Association. “We will be trying to solve this question amicably so that both parties are satisfied,” said Mr Roberts.
Medley Record.—Miss S. Steinbach on Sunday set a women's European 400 metres individual medley record by clocking smin 22.65ec at the East German swimming championships. The 15-year-old swimmer cut 2.4 sec off the previous record held by Miss B. Heukels (Holland).
