First Squash Rankings
Ashburton players head the first ranking list issued by the Canterbury Squash Rackets Association. In previous years only players from Christchurch dubs have been included, but with the formation of the Canterbury association, players from Timaru and Ashburton come under consideration. There appears to be some doubt as to the availability of B. J. Rippin and D. J. Lyons (Timaru) this year, but on their form in the 1966 season they deserve their placings. Messrs R. D. Monk and N. B. Ullrich have been appointed controllers of the ranking list. The rankings are:—J, L. Bird (Ashburton) 1, G’ A. Davidson (Ashburton) 2, B. J. Rippin (Timaru) 3, J. F. Henderson (University) 4, R. M. Garrett (Christchurch) 5. J. H. N. Pine (Collegiate) 6, D. J. Triggs (Officers), 7, D. J. Lyons (Timaru) 8, W. A. Green (Timaru) 9, L. G. Milne (Christchurch) 10, R. D. Monk (Christchurch) 11, J. G. Foulds (Collegiate) 12, S. Suckling (Christchurch) 13, B. V. Hamilton (Christchurch) 14, T. L. Williams (Christchurch) 15.
