Leaders
All Black captains of the present and recent past, B. J. Lochore and W. J. Whineray, will lead the Cantabrians and Barbarians, respectively, in their match at Lancaster Park on Sunday, April 16. Whineray’s vice-captain is B. A. Watt and D. A. Arnold will be vice-captain of the Cantabrians.
Whineray, one of the six All Black captains to be a member of the Cantabrians, will be playing for the second time in this fixture. He also captained the Barbarians against the Cantabrians at Ashburton in 1964.
The emergencies for both teams are:—
Forwards: D. S. Pirie, A. J. Hopkinson, M. J. Hanham (Mid-Canterbury). Backs: B. Molloy (MidCanterbury), W. D. Cottrell, R. J. Phelan.
