Bigger Role In Commonwealth

The Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, Mr Arnold Smith, will fly to New Zealand and Australia today to try to persuade them to take a bigger role in making the. Commonwealth an instrument for world co-operation. Regionalism must not be seen as an alternative to cooperation, through the Commonwealth, with people of many races, nations and continents, he said. He will arrive in New Zealand on Monday morning after a stop-over in Tahiti. Mr Smith said he would 1 hold talks with Mr Holyoake, 1 Mr Holt and other Ministers.
