Hulme 2nd To Rindt

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) PAU, (South-west France). J. Rindt (Austria) won the Pau Formula II Grand Prix motor race on a round-the-houses circuit, driving a Brab-ham-Cosworth. D. Hulme (New Zealand) was second in a Repco-Brab-ham, and A Rees (Britain) third in a Brabham-Cos-worth. J. Brabham (Australia) in a Brabham-Cosworth Ford, dropped out on the fiftyeighth lap with ignition trouble. Rindt lapped all of the 12man field except for Hulme. Only eight cars finished the 70-lap race. J. Clark (Scotland) four times winner of the Pau race set a lap record of 76.74 m.p.h. He finished fourth. Rindt’s time was 1:35:55.
