PROMOTIONS FOR POLICE
Detective Sergeant B. I. S. Kimber, of the Criminal Investigation Branch in Christchurch, has been promoted to detective senior-sergeant, said Superintendent C. L. Scanlan on Thursday. Other promotions in the Christchurch area include: Detective Sergeant A. E. V. Yaxley to senior-sergeant and transferred to the uniform branch. Sergeant J. M. Phelan to senior-sergeant and Detective R. J. McMeeking to detective sergeant Constables R. S. Morgan and P. P. Brady have been promoted to sergeant and transferred to Dunedin. Constable S. I. Young has been promoted to sergeant and transferred to Christchurch. Senior-Sergeant L. W. R. O’Neill and Detective SeniorSergeant G. R. Knight, both of Auckland, have been transferred to Christchurch as senior-sergeants. Both have a recommendation for promotion to the rank of inspector.
