REPEAT OF WIMBLEDON

American Superior (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) JOHANNESBURG. Mrs B. J. King (United States) beat Miss M. E. Bueno (Brazil) yesterday to win the South African women’s singles tennis title. Mrs King had to battle hard to repeat her Wimbledon final victory over Miss Bueno, winning 7-5, 5-7, 6-2. Mrs King’s greater consistency proved the key factor against Miss Bueno who cracked twice at vital stages. The little American remained cool under pressure and continued to attack whenever possible from the net. R. Hewitt and F. McMillan (South Africa) beat O. K. Davidson and W. W. Bowrey (Australia), 6-1, 64, 64, in the men’s doubles final, and Davidson and Mrs King defeated K. Fletcher (Australia) and Miss Bueno, 6-1, 6-3, in the mixed doubles final.
