THEFT FROM HOUSE
A transistor radio, a signet nng, a sovereign and a half sovereign were taken from a house in Centaurus road between March 22 and March 28 it was reported to the police yesterday. Money amounting to £22 was taken from the New Zealand Farmers’ Co-operative Association's Essex street gar. age after the premises had been broken into on Monday night. Cash amounting to £l6 was taken when the premises of Belfast Motor and Engineering. Ltd., North road, were entered early yesterday morning. A transistor radio valued at £lO was taken from a car while it was parked in the grounds of Shirley Boys’ High School on March 15. The Northern Book Shop, 917 A Colombo street, was entered between March 25 and March 28 and £1 13s in cash was taken.
Two schools, Christchurch Girls’ High School and Kirkwood Intermediate, have also been broken into recently, but nothing has been reported as being taken.
