TUESDAY (Before Mr J. C. Cottrell, J.P., and Mr A. R. Chambers, J.P.) FINED £7 10s When two persons in a flat at the rear of a house at 111 Fitzgerald avenue beard a noise in the vacant flat at the front of the house they investigated and found that the front door had been forced, said Detective-Sergeant A. B. Dalzell. Neil Arthur Robinson, aged 34, a freezing worker, pleaded guilty to a charge of being unlawfully in a building on March 27. He was convicted and fined £7 10s. Robinson said that he had been drinking in a city hotel and had then accepted a lift home. He had then changed his mind about accepting the lift as he had a few pounds in his pocket. He had gone into the flat to telephone for a taxi, he said. OBSCENE LANGUAGE Lewis Robinson, aged 48, a labourer, pleaded guilty to a charge of using obscene language at the Midland bus terminal on March 25. He was convicted and fined £l5. Detective-Sergeant Dalzell said that there were women and children present at the time, about 6.30 p.m. FOUND ON ROOF Richard John Allison, aged 29, a soldier, pleaded guilty to a charge of being unlawfully on the roof of Hay’s, Ltd., Gloucester street, on March 27. He was convicted and fined £lO, in default seven days’ imprisonment. Detective-Sergeant Dalzell said that about 7.15 p.m. the nightwatchman heard noises and found Allison on the roof. He was under the influence of alcohol. Allison could offer no explanation for his being on the roof and could not remember getting up there.
