Gore Takes Title (N.Z. Press Association) INVERCARGILL. The host club, St. Mary's of Gore, won the South Island Mar--Ist Rugby annual tournament, which was played in Gore over the week-end. Gore St. Mary’s beat Invercareill Mar Ist, 11-8. Invercargill aris't has now been runner-up for the last three years. Results of games yesterday were: Dunedin 16, Ashburton 3; Gore 6, Hokitika 3; Blenheim 11, TL maru 0: Invercargill 5, Christchurch 3; Ashburton 9, Hokitika 8; Greymouth 5, Nelson 0. This season's South* Island Mar Ist team was announced by the sole selector, the former AM Black, Mr R. Ward. The team is:— Full-back, J. Cullen (Invercargill); wing three-quarters, S. Pulu (Dunedin), T. Egan (Gore); centre three-quarter, T. McAra (vice-captain, Greymouth); fiveeighths, M. Burke (Invercargill), F. O’Donnell (Greymouth): halfback, C. Frank (Christchurch): front row, M. Wassell (Dunedin), S. Hardiman (Gore), D. Bartlett (Christchurch); middle row, M. Hanham (captain, Ashburton), J. Burns (Christchurch), D. Quirk (Dunedin), j; Tapeuleulu (Dunedin); No. 8, G. Coghlan (Gore).
