ANZAC TRUST
First Use Of Funds
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, March 27. The newly-formed Auckland Anzac Trust has named five organisations which will receive assistance from the first distribution of trust money this year. The organisations are Boystown, the Auckland War Memorial Committee, the Intellectually Handicapped Children’s Society, the Auckland Old People’s Welfare Committee, and Heritage. Money for the trust will come, it is hoped, from sports bodies, cinemas, hotels and other business organisations who should profit from the newly organised Anzac Day afternoon. The trust chairman (Mr N. F. Gardiner) said tonight that the Returned Services’ Association was negotiating on behalf of the trust with the Government to have all donations fully tax-deductible and separate from existing statutory limits.
