Te Parae Wins
(N.Z. Press Association) ADELAIDE. Two New Zealand-bred horses staged a thrilling finish to the 6500-dollar Birthday Cup at Victoria Park on Saturday. Te Parae got up in the last stride to beat the lO.year-old Woambra. Woambra went down gallantly under his 9-6. He conceded IMb to Te Parae, a four.yearold by Agricola. Hunting Horn, ateo New Zealand-bred, finished fast for fourth. Te Parae was the top-priced filly oi her year at the national yearling sales. Another New Zealand-foaled winner was the Alcimedes three-year-old gelding, Starula, in the Heathpool Trial. Glipjoint, which came to Australia last year with Terrific, had her second Adelaide race in the MarryatvHle Mile. She set the pace and although unplaced, is going along well in her preparation for the two-mlle Adelaide Cup in May.
