Mr D. G. Croot, of Auckland, has been named manager. He was manager to the New Zealand crews which toured Australia in 1965.

The composition of the eight and four has not been announced yet, and the cox* wains are also not decided. Mr Brooker said it may be decided to take two coxwains, who will be tried out during training in Christchurch, be* fore any announcement is made.

Training for the 13 oarsmen will start a week after Easter.

The four and eight willleave for Canada at the end of July, possibly rowing in Vancouver before the main races at the Canadian Centennial Regatta. However, Mr Brooker said that before any crew left the country it would have to prove itself. Time trials will be held either on Lake Karapiro, near Hamilton, or Lake Waihola, near Dunedin. The selection of the oarsmen, training venue, coach and manager would have to be confirmed by the New Zealand Rowing Council. Selections at the trials were merely recommendations to the council, said Mr Brooker.
