Touring XV Jaded

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) TOKYO. The New Zealand Universities Rugby team had more difficulty beating a Hosei University side at Tokyo yesterday than the score of 49-12 suggested. Nearing the end of its tour of Japan, the New Zealanders showed signs of being jaded in their eighth match since February 26 and their fourth in the last eight days. They allowed the smaller Japanese, facing a crushing half-time deficit of 0-23, to score 12 points in the second spell. Although the New Zealanders themselves added another 26, they grew ragged and lost the domination they had freely exercised in most of the first half.
