Shooting Accidents
Sir, —We read of two’ many deaths by accidental shooting. Do those shooters Involved have permission to shoot in the areas? Far too many accidents occur in this way. “I thought it was a deer.” It just isn’t good enough. No permission should ever be given to two parties to shoot over the same area. Shooters trespassing on properties can cause this situation. With the roaring season approaching, shooters will be out in force this Easter, and many will trespass on private property, thus causing this danger as well as disturbing stock. I feel much more publicity needs to be given to this matter, and shooting on Crown lands should be controlled by deer-stalkers* associations or similar bodies.—Yours, etc., GET PERMISSION OR KEEP OUT.
