Riccarton Sections
One hundred and forty-five building sections would be available in the Upper Riccarton area as the result of work going ahead on two areas that were formerly raspberry farms, said Mr F. S. Blogg, °f Blogg Property Development, Ltd.
“It is unfortunate, but we have to get rid of poplars which are across the lines of future roads,” he said. However, in the Withells road area, in which was sited an 18-acre block to be subdivided into 84 sections, a patch of native bush would be retained. Local residents had signed a petition asking that this be done. The other area was of 12 acres off Middlepark road and this would provide 61 sections. Trees were being removed by Ryan Brothers, contractors. Mr Blogg said the sections would be priced up tc £2OOO each.
