Rose Bowl Golf Draw
The draw for the Freyberg Rose Bowl golf tournament at St. Clair, Dunedin, next month, gives Canterbury a reasonable chance of success. The team will play Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, and Otago of the stronger sides, and Mid-South Canterbury could be another difficult opponent. Canterbury, however, will not play Wellington, the holder of the trophy, or two other strong North Island combinations, Taranaki and Manawa-tu-Wanganui. Canterbury’s draw is: April 12.—v. Northland (a m.) and Bay of Plenty. April 13 —v. Otago and MidSouth Canterbury. April 14.—v. Auckland. April 15.—v. Waikato and Southland.
Warrell's Funeral.—Sir Frank Worrell, the former West Indies test cricket captain who died in Jamaica on Monday, will be buried at Bridgetown. Barbados, on Sunday, at a cemetery about one mile from his birth-place.
