THREATENING CALLS
Secretary Of CARP. (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, March 14. A telephone threat “to be careful and watch out” has been made to Mrs G. J. Schmidt, secretary of the Auckland branch of the Campaign Against Rising Prices. Her 19-year-old daughter has also received an obscene call. Mrs Schmidt said tonight that the calls had been received over the last few days and the police were investigating. She also said members of the North Shore branch of C.A.R.P. had received similar calls. The threat was made on Sunday morning and the caller said he was a bakery worker who had lost his job.
