The development and growth of Methven School is not yet finished. A definite possibility in the near future, according to the headmaster, Mr C. W. Reid, is the establishment of a forms one to six school. This would bring the roll in the high school to about the 300 mark, he said. The school is actually fairly well provided for now
to cope with such a change, but it would mean some further increase in staff and facilities so that they would be able to cover a wider syllabus. This development would be in line with the trend in New Zealand to extend secondary school subjects to the senior primary school level, which in effect means a greater Integration of the two departments of education and greater extension of the abilities of Form I and II pupils.
