S.A.-Malawi Trade Pact
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) CAPE TOWN, March 13. South Africa today signed its first agreement with a black African State—a trade pact with Malawi. The agreement was seen here as an important breakthrough in South Africa’s attempts to Improve its relations with the black Africans, most of whom are bitterly opposed to its policy of apartheid.
Led by the Trade and Industry Minister, Mr J. T. Kumbweza, the Malawi Ministers were given red carpet treatment in Cape Town and stayed at the palatial whltesonly Mount Nelson hotel.
