Lectures On Liturgy
Lectures on the changes in the liturgy of the Anglican Church and on church union, most of which will be given by speakers from outside Christchurch, will begin at St. John’s Church, Latimer square, on March 29. The series of five lectures is sponsored by the Christchurch branch of the Evangelical Churchmen’s Fellowship. Subjects covered in the series will include “open communion,” the present communion service, the new liturgy, and the doctrinal basis for church union.
Speakers will include the Rev. B. R. Carrell, Dunedin; the Rev. C. Haskell, Naenae; the Rev. Archdeacon R. B. Somerville, Feilding; and the Rev. R. Thompson, of St. John’s.
