PROMISING RESULTS
Untierwater Survey Mr Thomas P. Ross, jun., of Global Marine Incorporated, of Los Angeles, who is conducting a preliminary search for an economic deposit of phosphorits, used in the manufacture of fertiliser, said at Lyttelton that the results so far had been promising.
He was speaking aboard the Timaru trawler Moray Rose which returned from survey work along the Mernoo Bank, between Banks Peninsula and the Chathams, on Saturday. Mr Ross said he had just received an underwater camera from Los Angeles and that the next five days would be spent in underwater photography.
