Release From Vows Sought
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) LONDON, March 13. Eighty-three priests and monks have asked the Pope in writing to release them from their vows of celibacy so that they can marry, Ronald Singleton reported from Rome for the “Daily Mail.” They are among 500 priests and numerous monks who feel that there are changes imminent in the celibacy rules, the report said. The Pope, who is studying each of the cases, is reported to be “moved and gravely concerned.”
