FIGHTER KILLED
Husband Of ‘Tiger Lady’ (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SAIGON, March 13. The “tiger lady” and her husband, once the most fffamous pair of fighters in the South Vietnamese Army, are dead. The husband, Major Nguyen Van Dan, aged 44, killed his 39-year-old wife. Ho Thi Que, during a quarrel late in 1965. Now the major is dead, killed during a Viet Cong attack on the infantry battalion he commanded west of Saigon. They were married while both were with the Viet Minh fighting against the French. They defected to the Saigon Government in the mid-19505. When her husband was given command of the 44th Ranger Battalion, Ho Thi Que insisted on joining him on every military operation, taking time off only to have children. She had seven. Her husband got a light sentence for killing her, and late in 1966 was given command of an infantry battalion. He was with forward elements of his battalion when the Viet Cong overran it late last week.
