Vice-President Elected Mr R. Warren has been elected men’s vice-president of the Canterbury University Students’ Association. There were three candidates. A fifth-year law student who passed his LL.B, last year, Mr Warren beat his .closest rival Mr J. Van Maamen, a senior science student by 350 votes. The third candidate was Mr D. Clemens, also a fifth-year law student. The count of votes on Monday night gave Mr Warren 738, Mr Van Maanen 388, and Mr Clemens 333. There were 2( informal votes, including ore for Pooh Bear. About 29 per cent of the number of student, exercised their votes.
Mr Warren is continuing his studies this year for a master of laws degree, and is a tutor in law at the university. Miss P. Roche, a fourthyear student, was the only nomination for women’s vicepresident and was elected unopposed, as were the only two nominees for women members of the association’s executive. They are Misses A. Todd and J. Ward.
