T.A.B.
Sir, —Why are there no toilet facili ies at T.A.B.s? Some of the busy T.A.B. buildings have as many as 50 or 60 in the betting room at a time. I have heard women ask where the toilet is, only to be told there is none in the building. Surely, as a matter of health, toilets should be provided. What has the Health Department to say?—Yours, etc., FOR HEALTH. March 8, 1967. [The Supervising Inspector of Health (Mr J. B. Snoad) replies: “While legislation exists for the provision of conveniences for the use of the public at premises used for the accommodation of persons at any public performance, show, amusement, or public gathering, an office of the T.A.B. is surely not such a place but simply an office to which people come to transact their private business. As with all business offices, conveniences must be provided for the staff: but there is no legal obligation to open such conveniences to the general public.”]
