(N.Z. Frets Association) OAMARU. After the Autumn High-weight at Oamaru yesterday M. S. Parr, the rider of Glocca Morra, was charged with causing Interference to Skeltheen (B. T. Jones) soon after the start. The committee, after hearing evidence from the stipendiary steward, the assistant stipendiary steward stationed on the home turn, Jones, and a statement from Parr, found that Parr had allowed his mount to shift ground when he was not sufficiently clear. It imposed a fine of £l5. An inquiry was held into the disputed riding engagement tor Stageland. The committee, after hearing statements from Mr J. F. Tutton. the part-owner, and B. J. Anderton, who alleged he had been engaged to ride the horse, decided to refuse to rule on the matter because of the conflicting evidence. Soon after the start of the Stewards' Handicap Sir Limond

(J. M. Cappie) had to be eased when there was a tightening from the outside. No rider was found blameworthy. At the half-mile Newbrook (A. J. Stokes) had to be eased off the heels of the runner in front. Stokes said that his horse was pulling hard and suffered no interference. The start of the Papakaio Handicap, ths first leg of ths T.A.B. double, was delayed several minutes when Retinue (D. R. Tucker) burst through the stalls and refused to re-enter. Retinue was started from the outside, and lost ground when the barrier was released. About five furlongs and a halt from the finish Early Dawn (E. G. Low), which was hanging badly, had to be checked off the heels of the runner in front. Low said that there was no interference. In the run home Golden Vanity (G. W. Mein) was checked when there was Insufficient room to Improve.
