Service To Golf
Ten years of service to the management of the Canterbury Provincial Golf Association ended for Mr J. C. Casserley (Kaiapoi) last evening. The meeting, the last before this year’s annual meeting, marked Mr Casseriey’s retirement as the Kaiapoi club representative on the management committee.
Mr Casserley, who is still secretary of the Kaiapoi club —of which his wife is treasurer—was president of the association over 1964-65. He managed the Canterbury team which last won the Freyberg Rose Bowl in 1965 and also cared for provincial teams on various other trips.
