More Taxis In Capital
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 13. The Wellington District Transport Licensing Authority (Air Vice-Marshal M. F. Calder) has authorised 25 additional taxi licences for Wellington on the grounds that the taxi services are inadequate and not efficient enough to meet the reasonable public demand. He announced this today after a four-day review of the taxi service, and after considering the Transport Department’s recommendation that the number of taxis be increased by between 50 and 55.
