Yacht In Distress
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY, March 13. A 36ft sloop with seven men on board was reported in distress in the path of very strong winds off the northern New South Wales coast today. The yacht, which lost its rudder early today, was being buffeted by 31-knot winds and heavy seas. Rescue vessels cannot go to its aid because of the dangerous seas.
The yacht, the Kurura, is skippered by an experienced Middle Harbour Yacht Club, Sydney, member, Mr W. H. Burke.
