Stop-work Meetings
Sir,—l have been a unionist for at least 45 years and a supporter of the New Zealand Labour Party for nearly 40 years, but I cannot see any benefit in stop-work meetings at this time. Government legislation is a political matter, and we already have our elected political representatives. Wage-earners and their wives constitute a huge majority of the voters, so it must be true that the wageearners put the National Party on the Treasury benches. Did they really believe that they could continue to prosper on borrowed money? Some people have to learn the hard way.—Yours, etc., D. ROBERTSON March 12, 1967.
