YALDHURST SHOOT

A West Coast visitor, M. A. Havill, from Kowhitlrangi, returned the best performance when the Christchurch Gun Club held its monthly shoot at Yaldhurst on Saturday.
Havill, in spite of the very wet and unpleasant conditions, scored nine out of 10 in the eye opener event, a possible in the trophy match and nine out of 10 in the double rise. He also won a shoot-off against D. Manning to take the “high gun” trophy.
Results: Ten Target Eye Opener.—Possibles: D. Manning, P. Askey, C. W. Stott. Nine: Havill, A. P. C. Mathews, T. Wall6> A. Berry, W. T. Morton.
10 Target Trophy Match.—'Possibles: Manning, Havill, Wails, Berry and Morton. Shoot-off: Morton 1, Walls 2, Havill 3, Manning 4. Five Pair Double Rise.— Nine: Havill, S. R. Marston, S. W. Geddes. Eight D. Manning. Ten Target Quail Drive.— Eight: J. Brightling. Seven: S. A. Glennie, G. Bryce. The first miss-out went to R. Marley.
