Wind speeds gusting above 70 m.p.h. forced the postponement on Saturday morning of the Hnal race of the R class national yachting championship for the Leander trophy. The Cooke brothers, of Christchurch. Gavin (skipper) and Colin (forward hand) were in an unassailable position for the final race, but this had to be abandoned in the afternoon.
