BALLOT FOR SECTIONS
108 Apply For 38 Lots
More than 40 persons crowded the office of the Commissioner of Crown Lands on Friday to watch the balloting of 38 sections in Bryndwr. Two persons withdrew their applications, and the final number in the ballot was 108. Originally there were 39 sections for sale by ballot, but an application by the Young Men’s Christian Association for a section in Greers road was granted, and the. section was withdrawn. The sections are in Greers road, Saffron street, Flower street, and Walden place. They ranged in price from £1375 to £1650. A scrutineer was obtained from those present and Mr R. C. Lowry drew the marbles from the ballot box. He was not successful in drawing his own number.
