Soil Moisture
The Winchmore irrigation research station reported yesterday that the soil moisture deficit on the non-irrigated area at the station was 200 points compared with 52 at the same time last year. The deficit has now been 200 points or greater for 41 days this season compared with 31 last season. The irrigated area, where the deficit was 58 points, was last irrigated on February 27 and can next be irrigated on Monday.
